Matthew 9:37-38, "(37) Then he said to his disciples, 'The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. (38) Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.'" (NIV)
Father, we praise you for the workers you have provided for your harvest in Lindsay Christian Church. We praise you for those who labor on our church board and committees. We praise you for our people who work in worship and children's ministry.
Father, we want to bring in the harvest in Tulare County! We praise you for the needed workers to harvest our area for Christ, bringing our ability to serve 60 people this year into reality. Provide a worship leader to upgrade our worship and a youth leader to launch us into youth ministry.
We offer our praise to you for providing the workers to make our Easter Celebration a mighty step toward bringing in the harvest in Tulare County!
Imagine that you are a young cowboy in 1875 living in a dusty Arizona border town. You are hanging out in the local saloon. You get into an argument and fight with another cowpoke. He draws on you, and you beat him the draw. Soon, he is lying dead on the floor.
The local marshal arrests you and a trial is put in place when the judge is in town next month. You are tried by a jury of your peers and convicted of murder. The judge sentences you to hang by the neck until dead. The sentence is to be carried out in one week.
Prayer Drill:
Acts 1:18, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (NIV)
Father, we accept your call to be witnesses to Tulare County, penetrating our culture for Christ! We know that your Holy Spirit has empowered us for that mission!
Nobody's perfect! What a weird thing to say! It affirms the world's biggest problem, that being that nobody's perfect.
The closest man to perfect I ever met in my life was my mother's father, my grandpa Bishop. He once told me he didn't like beer because it tasted like dishwater to him, which led meta understand he tasted it sometimes his life. So nobody's perfect, I guess.
Then there's his grandson Tom who tasted mucho beer between the age of 16 and 23. The world's biggest problem? Nobody's nerfect again!
