I Believe The Lord’s Return Is Near.
There ten recent developments that indicate to me we are nearing the return of Jesus Christ to earth.
Most of the following ideas did not originate with me. Many are taken from Dr. David Reagan’s recent book, Living on Borrowed Time in which he lists dozens of fulfilled prophecies. Following are ten developments that have occurred in my lifetime that suggest to me our blessed hope is drawing near:
Do you fear Tomorrow?
Nine people were killed and several seriously injured in another tragic school massacre a few weeks ago. This latest carnage took place at Umpqua Community College near Roseburg, Oregon.
A witness said the gunman demanded to know each student's religion before shooting them. "The shooter was lining people up and asking if they were Christian," she stated. "If they said, 'yes' then they were shot in the head. If they said 'no' or didn't answer, they were shot in the legs." -
The Forgotten Holiday
Have you noticed a disturbing trend in the retail industry the past few years? Walk through your local Mall and see if you don't agree. It seems that in the great rush to get to Christmas, the holiday of Thanksgiving is receiving short shrift. As soon as the Halloween decorations come down, the Christmas decorations go up, with scarcely a thought to that special day in between. With Christmas arriving earlier and earlier each passing year, Thanksgiving is quickly becoming the "forgotten holiday."
Looking for a replacement
I have now completed 30 years as the minister of the Christian Church in Lindsay. Therefore I have been investigating candidates to take my place. This church has all been good to me. So I thought I would help them find someone to take my place. In case you are interested in investigating any of them I will give you their names and my comments on these candidates.
